About
Guru Maharaj Sri Sadananda Mahayogi
In the words of Patriji…
I salute Sri Sandananda Yogi. This God of ours, will take care of us. Even if you didn’t have faith, even if you have never met him, he is a wonderful God.
He was born in a small village in Arabia. When he was just 6 years old, a yogi approached him and asked, “Will you come with me?” The boy nodded in agreement. The yogi then performed pada lepanam on his feet, and both the yogi and young Sadananda Mahayogi left for the forests of Bhutan.
The yogi remained in deep meditation while the boy served him faithfully for 10 years. During that time, the yogi never spoke a single word to him—until Sadananda Mahayogi turned 16.
When he was 16 years old, the yogi lay down on his lap and finally spoke. He told him everything and then said, “I am vacating this body.”
Sadananda Mahayogi cried deeply. He stayed near the yogi’s samadhi (final resting place) in the forest. A few days later, he heard the voice of his guru telling him, “Go north! Go to the Himalayas.” Though reluctant, he obeyed the divine instruction and left the Bhutan forest.
In the Himalayas, he found beautiful caves, ancient trees, and mystic people. Some of them invited him to stay in a particular cave. There, Sadananda Mahayogi meditated for 80 years.
After 80 years of deep meditation, the divine voices told him, “Your work here is done. Now go out into the world and teach meditation.” Though he was content and didn’t want to leave, he was again guided to move forward.
He left the Himalayas and traveled through Rajasthan, Kashmir, Papi Kondalu, Nellore, and finally reached Kurnool, where he waited for us—for 6 years.
Sri Sadananda Mahayogi is the Adi Guru of PSSM (Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement). I (Patriji) was blessed to serve him for two and a half years.
After him, Sri Kasireddy Nayana was another great master. He had the rare ability to be present in five places at once. Like Shirdi Sai Baba, he could remove and wash his intestines—such was his yogic power.
In my life, the two greatest masters I had the fortune to meet were Sri Sadananda Mahayogi and Sri Kasireddy Nayana.
